Reef Television Managing Director Paul Hanrahan is to leave the company at the end of the year.
Paul has decided to look for a new opportunity after twelve years at Zinc Media-owned Reef Television. Paul was instrumental in the sale of Reef to Zinc Media in 2015 and the subsequent integration of the business into the super indie. Paul's departure leads to a reorganisation of Reef's management team headed by CEO Richard Farmbrough. Rob Dersley has been appointed Director of Production and will report into Farmbrough and will work closely with the Zinc management team.
Richard Farmbrough said: "It's with a heavy heart that I accepted Paul's decision to head off to pastures new. He has done a terrific job at Reef over the twelve years culminating in our acquisition by Zinc Media eighteen months ago. Paul feels he needs a change of scene and a new challenge and he departs with the best wishes and thanks of many, many Reefers. I'm delighted that as part of our restructuring Rob Dersley is to join us on 1st January as Director of Production - a new adventure for him which I know he will relish."
Paul Hanrahan commented: “After twelve years I'm leaving Reef on a real high at a time of record turnover and profitability and following its successful integration into the Zinc Media PLC Group. We've not only produced high quality programmes but I have also been fortunate in working with a fantastic team. I'm excited by the opportunity of greater responsibilities in my next role within the broadcasting sector”.
Reef's management team now comprises Rachel Platt, Head of Features and Formats, Ben Weston as Head of Factual and Justine Field as Acting (maternity cover) Head of Production.
